Chronoswiss Unveils Three Spectacular ReSec Manufacture Models

Colours and textures for these new, ultra-modern takes on the classic regulator watch.

Founded in 1983 by Gerd R. Lang in Munich, Chronoswiss has quickly become one of the leading representatives of a classic complication, the Regulator – a type of display that splits the three main indications of time and pays tribute to master clocks of the old days of watch regulation. As you can imagine, the brand has evolved over the years, introducing far more modern takes on its initial concept while respecting the hallmark regulator display. Case in point: the new ReSec Manufacture models that Chronoswiss just released. Bold, modern, colourful and textured, the regulator with a twist.

Meet the new Chronswiss ReSec Manufacture Helium, Vertical Red and Obsidian, three bold watches with a seriously cool regulator transformation, including a kinetic display of the second hand. The Chronoswiss ReSec isn’t an entirely new concept, as we’ve discovered it in the past with watches such as the Flying Grand Regulator Open Gear ReSec, the Open Gear ReSec Kingfisher or the ReSec Hurricane Limited Edition. And while the display module on top of these three new models retains the remarkable architecture of previous editions, there’s something new to discover through the caseback… More on that in a few.

We’re looking at a trio of 42mm watches with a 14.2mm thickness, with cases crafted mostly in grade 5 titanium. The design retains classic elements of the brand, with the partially knurled bezels (front and back), the oversized onion crown on the side and a complex case composed of 17 parts. The water-resistance is rated at 100m on all models, and there are sapphire crystals on both sides of the watch. Complementing this modern and bold look, all three new Chronswiss ReSec Manufacture models are worn on well-integrated rubber straps.

For this new collection, Chronoswiss first unveils the ReSec Helium Manufacture, which has solar textures and colours. The titanium case is entirely matte grey, bringing the focus to the dial. The latter relies on a bright orange guilloché base representing swirling solar flares. All raised and floating elements, such as the peripheral minutes track, the seconds bridge or the hour counter, are treated in blue. The luminous hands are paired with ceramic hour blocks.

The second edition, the ReSec Vertical Red Manufacture, has a polished titanium case, resulting in a more classic look. The dial, which still uses blue raised and floating elements, shows a vivid red Cote de Genève base. Chronoswiss keeps things more discreet here, with white luminous markers and hands. The last of the three editions, the ReSec Obsidian Manufacture, is a more luxurious statement, with its bezel, caseback and crown made of 18k red gold, while the rest of the case is black CVD-coated titanium. The galvanic black dial here features the same swirling guilloché pattern as the Helium version, yet in a far more discreet colour.

All three new Chronswiss ReSec Manufacture watches are now powered by a new base movement made with La Joux-Perret, which we first saw in the Delphis Venture and Delphis Paraiba. The calibre C. 6005 runs at 4Hz and stores 55h of power reserve. It brings energy to an in-house regulator module on top, with its central minutes and hours at 12 o’clock and a retrograde second display at 6 o’clock.

Limited to 100 pieces each, the new Chronswiss ReSec Manufacture models are now available from the brand at EUR 15,300 (Helium), EUR 14,800 (Vertical Red) or EUR 23,400 (Obsidian). For more details, please visit chronoswiss.com.
